Samoa Regulator orders cell phone companies to remove 4G advertisements

Posted at 03:53 on 06 December, 2012 UTC

The two cell phone service providers in Samoa, Blue-Sky and Digicel Samoa have been forced by the telecommunications regulator to stop claiming they can provide fourth generation or 4G mobile phone services.

The regulator Donnie De Freitas says the services the 2 companies are providing do not meet the criteria established by the telecommunications union for fourth generation services or 4G.

Management of both companies are yet to comment on the ruling.
