American Samoa’s governor addressed the Territory this morning following last night’s election of Lolo Matalasi Moliga as the new governor for the next four years.

Togiola Tulafono told local radio station KSBS voters chose Lolo as the new governor, and therefore American Samoa must accept and embrace the decision and move forward.

He also congratulated Lolo and his running mate, Lieutenant Governor-elect Lemanu Peleti Mauga for their hard battle, and wished them the best when they take over the leadership posts in January next year.

Togiola also congratulate Lieutenant Governor Faoa Aitofele Sunia for a well fought battle in the governor’s race.

Togiola also called on residents to come together and support the new governor and his administration in 2013.
