American Samoa’s Faoa surprised by former rivals’ backing

American Samoa’s Lieutenant Governor Faoa Aitofele Sunia says the endorsement of former opponents in tomorrow’s run-off election has come as a surprise.

Four teams were eliminated in the elections for governor two weeks ago but some now back the Faoa campaign.

He finished a close second behind the team of Lolo Matalasi Moliga and Lemanu Peleti Mauga.

Faoo says they all have the freedom to choose how to conclude their endeavor for the gubernatorial posts.
