The Newcastle Falcons midfielder Tane Tui’polotu says midweek matches between Northern Hemisphere clubs and touring international sides benefits everyone.

The Falcons beat Tonga 24-13 on Wednesday while Fiji were pipped 31-29 against another English side, Gloucester.

Tui’polotu didn’t play in the match against his birth country but says it was a great occasion.

“A lot of the will never come across these games. Especially teams like the Leicester’s who are getting to play teams like the Maori’s and, a few years back when South Africa were touring, Leicester got to play the Springboks so it’s a great occasion for the game. You do see some of the talent come through from these club levels and It’s such a great occasion for fans to come and watch the spectacle of some of the talents of these international teams.”
