Fiji police to ready for 2014 polls

Fiji police are reported to be starting to prepare for the elections promised in two years.

The Police Commissioner, Brigadier-General Ioane Naivalurua, says it was critical that the Fiji Police Force created the appropriate security environment for government to do its job during the polls.

The Fiji Sun says he was speaking after the Southern Division Third Quarter Parade in Suva.

The police commissioner admitted to there being dishonest or unscrupulous officers.

He has warned that he will not tolerate any of this and will tighten the noose on those who continue to misbehave.
