Two police officers who work at the American Samoa Territorial Correctional Facility have been arrested and charged in connection with incidents inside the jail.
Samoa News reports police officers, Rocky Tua and Fiti Aina, who are being held on bail of 15 thousand US dollars each, will make their initial court appearance tomorrow.
The newspaper says beer and other items which police confiscated from the jail back in July, led to the arrest of the police officers.
That investigation also uncovered a flat screen TV, screw drivers and other tools, fans and cell phones in the prison cells.
Both officers are facing charges of permitting and aiding the escape of an inmate - charges that could result in 5 years jail.
They have also been charged with corruption.
