Samoa’s Weightlifting Federation has accepted an invitation to compete in the weightlifting Tri Nations tournament in New Zealand next week.
It’s the first time Samoa is joining the competition, which also includes Australia and New Zealand.
Coach Jerry Wallwork says the young squad of lifters for the tournament is being developed with the 2014 Commonwealth Games in mind and have been in a training camp for the past five weeks.
Samoa’s team for the Tri Nations was selected from the recent Teuila Weightlifting Tournament that was held at Tuanaimato Weightlifting Gym.
