Vanuatu appoints ambassador to Russia

The Vanuatu government has appointed the sister of prominent businessman, Dinh Van Than, to be its ambassador to Russia. region.

Mrs Thitam Goiset is currently the president of the Nagriamel Movement and the John Frum Movement, positions which previously have been held by high ranking male chiefs.

She has previously been in charge of a number of government projects, including the unsuccessful computerisation of the Vanuatu Electoral Office.
