Australia has donated 300 thousand US dollars to Vanuatu’s National Bank to allow it improve services around the country.

The money was handed over to bank by the Australian Parliamentary Secretary for International Development Assistance, Bob McMullan, who is taking part in the International Labour Organisation ministers meeting in Port Vila this week.

The Australian assistance will help to build windmill and solar systems to supply power to the bank’s branches.

It will mean the bank’s branches in the islands can computerize their systems and have access to telecommunications.
