Solomon Islands’ contingent to the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, China will show-case the country in four main areas.

The SIBC reports there will be exhibitions in carvings and handicrafts; promotion of tourist destinations and products; promotions of the country’s trade and investment opportunities and cultural performances.

The chairman of the organising committee for the 2010 World Expo, Michael Tokuru says it is a big opportunity for Solomon Islands to promote itself on the World stage.

He says a total of one-million visitors are expected to pass each day through the Pacific Pavilion where the 15 member countries of the South Pacific Tourism Organisation will be based.
