Business group deplores expulsion of Australian diplomat from Fiji

The Fiji Australia Business Council says it regrets the expulsion of the Australian High Commissioner, James Batley, by the Fiji interim government.

In a statement, it says while the government to government relationship could not be described as fully normalised, the Council was encouraged by recent improvements at some level of that relationship.

It says it hopes that the possible repercussions of the expulsion may have on on trade will be ocercome through further dialogue.
