Air Vanuatu today takes possession of a new ATR 72 aircraft, which has been delivered from Toulouse in France.
The plane will help to serve the three new international airports on the islands of Santo, Pentecost and Tanna.
Air Vanuatu says with the ATR it will be able to fly to New Caledonia, Solomon Islands and Fiji.
The new plane will ease congestion after one of the company’s aircraft crashed in West Santo in December last year, killing its pilot and a passenger.
