New Caledonia deports Australian paedophile

Police in New Caledonia have deported an Australian man after it was revealed that he had a conviction for peadophilia.

The man and his family were taken off a cruise ship after a warning that he could pose a risk to the 250 children on board the ship, the Pacifc Sun.

New Caledonia’s daily newspaper says the man is the fifth Australian paedophile since October to be detected on cruise ship passenger lists and to be deported.

This follows improved information sharing between Australian police and French police in New Caledonia.
