New Zealand names new High Commissioner to Tonga

The New Zealand Foreign Minister, Winston Peters, has announced the appointment of career diplomat, Christine Bogle, as the country’s new High Commissioner to Tonga.

Ms Bogle is currently the deputy director of the Australia Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

She has previously served as Ambassador in Madrid, and also been posted to Peru and Rome.

She will take up her position in January, replacing Michael McBryde, who returns to Wellington.
