Video on Papua to play at Venice Biennale Festival

A video looking at the plight of some people living in Indonesia’s province of Papua will be screened at the Biennale in Venice.

The German Free West Papua Campaign is behind the opportunity to present the video "West Papua - The secret war in Asia , at the festival.

The film focuses on what it calls "the forgotten war against tribal people on the island of Papua New Guinea."

Since 1963, the West Papuans have been campaigning for independence from Indonesia.

The Venice Biennale is one of the biggest Art Exhibitions in the world.
